Techno
At Future Past we're heavily influenced by those futuristic sounds that originated from Detroit in the mid to late eighties, made by first generation producers like the Belleville Three (Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson & Derrick May) through to the second wave of detroit techno producers like Underground Resistance, Jeff Mills and Robert Hood and beyond until the present day. Still a massively thriving scene, and one of the only forms of dance music that never quite sold out. Techno is maybe best described by the famous Derrick May quote:
“The music is just like Detroit, a complete mistake. It’s like George Clinton and Kraftwerk are stuck in an elevator with only a sequencer to keep them company."
