Justin is no stranger to the world of dance music. He started buying Electro records in the 1980's whilst he was still in his early teens and started painting graffiti with his friends in and around Birmingham roughly at the same time. Then in 86 he heard early Chicago House for the first time and was hooked!
He first started DJ'ing at friends house parties in around 87 using his first set of 2nd hand bought Citronic belt drive decks and a mixer handed down to him from his mate who used to run a Blues party in Small Heath.
Fast forward to 1991, Justin persuaded his father to get into the nightclub game and over the next 12 months built Bond's which opened it's doors in Dec 92 and was home to world famous brand Miss Moneypenny's, and other more underground brands such as Oscillate, Boogie Down Brum and many others. The club lasted 16 years and was at the time, the longest running independently owned dance club in the West Midlands and also won best dance club of the Midlands award two years in succession. Justin also DJ'ed at the club regularly and became a resident in the Penthouse for Miss Moneypenny's in 97.
During these years, he was also very busy as a Graphic Designer and still is to this day. He has designed many logos and produced artwork for many clubs, DJ's, producers, record labels, fashion designers, and has also owned and ran three clothing labels of his own.
Future Past are now pleased to bring you this capsule range of tees designed by Justin that look back to his favorite period of time in the Acid House scene....
